Thats right, the Duellist and an Air Mariah (same upper but with an Air midsole) were released together in 1988. Duellist PR and Mariah PR followed in 1990, when both shoes replaced the mesh side panels with more `solid` material.

Actually this shoe was released in for sure 1988 and perhaps even as early as 87. I ran in these shoes in 88. There was also another color combo consisting of a lime green swoosh. They were probably the lightest Nike road racing shoe released to date. I believe ligher than the American Eagle.
