CC or short distance road racing shoe?

Circa 1982. These are pre Waffle Racer. They had the waffle pattern but the cut of the sole wasn't as radical as the Waffle Racer - ie. the arch wasn't cut away as much. This was probably more of a recreational shoe. Cost was about $35.
