For starters, when the zoom line came out, I was very flat footed and the hard plate of the zoom D hurt the ball of my feet. I felt, ironically, that the plastic plate was counter productive against the surface of the track(like Hayward Field). When I ran my first race in Zoom I's, the all rubber bottom really flowed with the track. My 1500meter races improved dramatically. Moreover, being a kid with different shoes than everyone else was VERY COOL!!!
Best race in them: 1988 3000meters at Track City Classic. Time: 8:46.
