One of the first track and field long distance running shoes, the Nike Zoom X II edition, we are not really aware if there was a Nike Zoom X I , maybe the true collectors know, or some track and field runners from the early 80's endorsed by Nike back then , can email us :)
Anyway, this shoe as a nice red color...and of course the waffle style sole spuds for gripping !
Looks a lot like the retro Nike waffle racer II from 2000 and now , very similar design !
Thanks to hillz5001 from switzerland for the great pictures !

The predecessor to the Zoom X II was simply named the Zoom X - see my comments under the Zoom X shoe. It was released around 1983. The shoe could be worn with or without spikes. It was not really one of the first Nike distance spikes - see their shoes like the Pre in the early 70s. I believe the only difference between the two shoes was the color scheme. Nike's elites from the 80s probably wouldn't be able to give much feedback on this shoe - this was an entry level spike designed for scholastic runners.
